Listen to the first three tracks from "Coco Hotel"
At Coco Hotel, music doesn’t just play; it happens. Over the last few months, acclaimed director and producer (and good friend of the house) Martin Skovbjerg has transformed our bar and courtyard into a living studio with his unique concept Studio Sessions.
Together with Danish artist Jacob Bellens, producer Malthe Guldberg, and special guests, Skovbjerg strips music down to its raw beginnings. Each session is a collective composition - part performance, part experiment, part memory for those who are there to feel it.
“Music is most powerful in its moment of becoming,” says Martin Skovbjerg. “We wanted to give people a chance to witness that fragile, electric space between silence and song.”
Unlike traditional performances, there are no rehearsals, no scripts. Studio Sessions invites the audience to sit close, to hear not only the notes but the hesitation, the re-takes, the improvisations that shape the final track.
“What fascinates me,” adds Martin Skovbjerg, “is the intimacy. Usually, creation happens behind closed doors, hidden from view. Here, we open the process, the mistakes, the laughter, the flow - it’s vulnerable, but it’s real.”
The sessions have already produced their first three tracks under the name Coco Hotel: "You Can Call Me Patrick Swayze", "Edelweiss" and "You're already There". Each track was conceived, recorded, and finished over one night, capturing the immediacy and honesty of the moment.
For us, releasing these tracks means sharing more than a memory - it’s sharing the pulse of Coco itself. Each song is a piece of our hotel; our guests, locals and friends, who make Coco more than just a place to spend the night.
If you want to experience Studio Sessions, the next event takes place at Coco Hotel on September 18th. You can book a table here, or just drop in. Entrance is free.
